Rating the extent of Modesty in your Cloth.

Every man and woman has his/her own standards for modesty ranging from religious beliefs, societal norms  e.t.c…. So, while some see modesty as simply avoiding cleavage, minding hemlines; not showing forth any form of flesh; others see it as been gender appropriate.

So, without any major standard for modesty due to individual uniqueness, the question of, “what then could be used  as a general yardstick to rating modesty in a dress”, then comes to mind….

Note,

To rate a dress using the modesty pass mark, we need to know what Modesty in dressing really means…

“Modesty is an ability to discern appropriateness in our personal style”

It allow us wear clothes that express our personal style and taste, yet still properly cover our body’s sensitive areas.

Modesty Yardsticks includes:

Respect for Boundaries

For your dress to be given a pass mark on what modesty entails, then it must respect boundaries. Boundaries as regard the kind of cloth that would suit private views when indoor and public views when outdoor.

Knowledge on gender Uniqueness

As legalistic as modesty might seem to look in the eye of many…we have to know that its a true test for the love we profess to our neighbours; which then demands the knowledge of knowing what stimulates each gender and ensuring that as much as possible, our clothes doesn’t play such sensual roles…

Understanding of what your situation/occasion demands.

There are various situation and occasion that require a special kind of cloth, which might not be viewed as “Modest”. Nevertheless, a proper understanding of such peculiar situation and occassion would give you an option of dresses that would be appropriate for freedom and movement at a level that would be beneficial for you and those who look at you…

Its high time we started paying attention to these modest side of fashion, because our negligence to it in recent times, has brought rape and other social vices to the increase in our society…

Let’s stand up for the Modest Fashion Movement!

Thank you.
